Hi everyone! So a couple weeks ago I had a hen dumped in my yard, my older hens didnt seem to mind and well to be honest I didnt either. Then I came home from work Thursday to this handsome fella

Any clue what breed he might be or guesses on mix? We are gonna try and keep him but if he causes problems here we have a back up home for him.

Sad to me how people could just dump their animals but then the same day I heard animal control was over populated with hens and roosters☹

Thanks for looking

Is that a straight comb or a pea comb? I can't tell.

He looks like he might be a game mutt to me. Generally, the single off-colour tail feather [EDT: and patchy barring] is a sign of mixed colours, if not mixed-breeds. The stance and tail says there's quite a lot of gamebird. Probably Old English Game; they're pretty common. His colour is crele.

EDT: Crele OEG rooster

Thank you for the reply, sorry the pic is so grainy because he is still a little nervous when I try to approach him. He has a straight comb
