That's what I meant and that stuffs useless. You need a good chemical liquid wormer. They may could use? If that’s what you meant we do add diatomaceous earth on occasion (that is our wormer for all our animals)
I put out enough feed for one day in dog bowls. I put out enough that they always leave a little. I bring that in and feed it to them with the next day’s feed. This makes me think we are really overfeeding them. This means my hens should be stretching that bag at least two weeks…
That was my thought, as well. That may could use a worming
I have 21 chickens and they use a 50 lb bag every 2 weeks. You might be over feeding them. Give them mash\feed in the morning and scrap and treats the rest of they day. They also love canned corn and its cheap. We do give them all the kitchen scraps, which is a pail-ful daily, and they free range half the day, but at about 20 hens they eat a large bag of feed every week. Are we overfeeding them? I wonder.
Same here I have 10 and buy one 50lb bag a month.my 11 birds (roughly half of your flock) go through about 50lbs a month.
Well That's just because great minds think alikeThat was my thought, as well.
If my calculations are correct that's correct for the average sized chicken. So original poster hows your feeding compareSame here I have 10 and buy one 50lb bag a month.
Sorry if I missed what you feeding. Please repeat. This makes me think we are really overfeeding them. This means my hens should be stretching that bag at least two weeks…
