Can’t see air bubble very well

So I candled him today still has very nice red veins but hasn’t filled up more of the egg. Anyone have opinions of if he is still
really alive or what’s going on. He seems really loose in his shell when I turn him. Lockdown day is tomorrow

It's dead, the float test already confirmed it - it sank.
loose jellyfish like movement when wobbling the egg is a sign there is no life, just a dead body floating about.

I float-tested my last 5 eggs that I had given up on. They all floated, but I still continued with egg autopsy; 1 had died as a tiny embryo, 1 had died several days before lockdown, 1 almost made it to lockdown, and the 2 last one turned out to be infertile...

Wouldn't a sinking egg just mean that there is little to no air in the egg? I.e it might be a live egg that is very close to hatching?

tbh if it had indeed pipped then the consensus is that a float test would kill it anyway...

Even if it had pipped the egg should float however.

a sinking egg is the worst outcome of the float test as the test is actually to check for any minute vibrational movement, not to see if it floats or not.

Another way to look at it is that a normal embryo needs an air cell to do gas exchanges. No air cell means no developing chick as it needs the air cell to survive.

I thought that as long as you see red veins it’s still alive because the veins looked perfectly fine. When I did do the float test I did see some wobbling but not so much. The egg hasn’t pipped yet as it’s only day 15 and it may be a day or two behind in growth because we had a winter storm and it brought the eggs temp to 96-98 for a day and a half.

It is great you already got a grade for the project. It was a brilliant effort. Not one I would want to do but I like it.
For future reference, just know to never trust the reading on any device whether it is a thermometer, hygrometer, thermostat and regardless of the source. I had a brinsea and a GQF dial thermometer that were both off by about 3 F.
I've never had a thermostat or temperature controller that were correct out of the box. They all required calibration. Worse are hygrometers.
I've had reptile and aquarium thermometers that were wrong and even an oral thermometer that was wrong but should have been spot on.

Yea I am ordering a new one because it’s off by 1.7 degrees sadly. So they are in my shirt for now

Over the years, there have been a few threads of someone incubating in their bra. In most cases, they had development but I don't recall any of them coming to term. Probably due to it being a couple degrees low throughout.
One was even bra incubating in the hot summer time in Cancun, Mexico but they still failed.
So whatever happens, don't beat yourself up if there is failure.

Yea I’m only expecting maybe 2 to hatch I really hope this guy hatches because even though he hasn’t floated and looks a bit giggly he still has huge red veins running throughout his shell. The bracubater is very tenporary until I get a new thermometer I have 4 eggs on day 7 and one on day 15

GOOD NEWS GUYS! I saw movement!!! I saw a bouncing baby!!!! I know for sure I saw a wing!!! I came up with a name and it’s Lucky if he hatches. I don’t know why the air bubble is so small what can I do to try and increase it? If I need to help him hatch what day and when should I help him? What can I do to make him healthy before he hatches?
