I have three chickens... I thought I had 2 hens, but one of the Brahmas is REALLY starting to look like a Rooster. SO it looks like I have 2 roosters and one hen.... If I got a few more hens, could I keep both roosters? They seem to get along (they're only about 3 months old though) but they're both really sweet and I'm having a hard time thinking about trying to rehome one.

There will be some fighting but if you have enough hens you should do alright. I have about 15 roos and there is some fighting but for the most part everyone gets along.

That's what I've been wondering. I think the first two I got might be Roos. Well I know for sure one of them is, he crowed this morning. I'm planning on getting 2 or 3 more pullets since there are only 3 that I know for sure are pullets out of 5. Cinnamon and Nugget always seem to get along though, so hopefully that won't change as they mature.

So do you think if I got like 2-3 more hens? Or more? This is my first time raising chickens! Ha ha

I once had two cockerels that I was asked to take on. They had spent most of their lives together.

They lived happily together without hens (when we originally introduced hens one of the males drew blood). Although I think this is rare :)

Good'luck

Yea, mine hatched together, and they get along pretty well! They chest bump and have staring contests once in a while but nothing violent. It's like they're just showing who's the bigger BA for the one hen.... LOL I'll just get some more hens! The main reason I got them (aside from having fun cute little pets) was for eggs! So I'll just have to see if I can get a few more ladies... Maybe the MSPCA near me! They have livestock!

If you remove the source of all roo's rivalry (hens) and just have a bachelor's pad, you can keep multiple roos together just fine, usually.

I just found someone near me selling 3 month old hens!! Perfect because mine are about 3 months old! Yay!!
