Hi there,

My turkeys will be 6 weeks on Monday. They're currently in an enclosure in our shop and I turned off their heat lamp about a week ago (4ish weeks).

In a week we are leaving on a 3 day trip and the turkeys are getting a bit big for their current area. Im concerned about keeping them so close together as they're growing so fast.
We have an outdoor turkey tractor ready to go with a tarp over it, and it's close to our house to hopefully reduce wind/rain.

While we're away the night time lows are looking to be unreasonably cool at 9c or 44f. Will they be okay in these temps?

If we were home and it was looking to be too cold, I would just bring them back inside for the night, but that won't be an option.

Your advice is much appreciated!

Are they considered fully feathered if they still have down on their heads and necks? Otherwise they seem to have all their adult feathers.
Yes. How many do you have in total? They may sit close to share body heat if it gets cold. Hopefully they have a roost in the new pen? Are these heritage or broad breasted?

They will be fine with that many, and are best moved to the larger pen. I never provided any extra heat beyond 5-6 weeks with mine.
