Can a a male trigger another to start crowing at a very young age?

I'm babysitting a male for three days. He's about a month and a half-two months I think. He's separated from my male who is 1-2 months. As soon as my male saw the new one he let out the world's loudest scream and flapped his wings. He's done it about four more times now. I've never heard him make those sounds before. It really sounds like a crow.

Is he just being bossy or is he actually crowing? I should make it clear they are NOT allowed in the same area. I have a fence between them.

He's probably crowing! A rooster's first crows can be odd. Mine sounded like something strangling a squirrel at first. They get better with practice. It's better now, but Harvey still has a very gravely voice. And Yes! One rooster crowing can cause or encourage another rooster to crow! Keep listening, it should begin to develop into something more pleasant soon! And they do like to flap wings with this crow business! :D

Huh, that's both good and bad! The one I'm babysitting hasn't crowed (yet). But mine won't shut up. He looks like someone strangles the crow out of him! He's become SUPER bossy as well.

He has four other roosters in "his" flock. It's interesting how one strange thing can cause such a sudden change! It's hilarious to watch, but loud.

Luckily Demon Kitten is keeping him company so he doesn't try to get to the one I'm babysitting. I didn't secure the fence well enough earlier. Within a minute of the breach both roosters were bloodied.

Oh No! I sure hope they will both be ok. Sometimes a little blood can look horrible, but the damage is not life threatening. What is the conditions of the two now?

The new chicken, Mufasa, lost a few head feathers (Polish). Seven, a faverolle, ended up with a tiny dot of blood on his nose. Afterwards they just kinda got over it. Seven crowed a *lot*, but now they just ignore each other in their separate sides of the yard. I had to move Mufasa for about five minutes to move a large piece of furniture through. He spent the entire time with the other babies (Under heavy supervision) trying to join their pack. They just ignored him like he didn't exist, but Seven would peck it too close.

After I moved the furniture I tucked Mufasa back into his side of the yard. He now sits there looking sad and lonely. He perks up when I come out and runs around chirping. My other babies avoid the side of the yard with the fence like the plague. :p

Seven did make some interesting screaming noises for a bit. It literally sounded like a little girl screaming for about two seconds. He did that while flapping.

I thought he was too young to crow? Don't they start about 3-7 months? Or am I remembering very wrong?

One of my cockerels started trying to crow at one week old, yes one week!
I had read the stories, seen the videos, but never experienced it first hand.

Yes, I was surprised by my two month old mutt rooster when he started crowing in the morning with the rest of my roosters! Could not believe it. To this day the rest still haven't started crowing at 4-5 months!

Sheesh! My other rooster just started crowing at 7 months. I thought he was *way* too young!

Luckily he's gotten over it today. I had no idea two non crowing roosters could trigger each other!
