Can a black Copper Maran have pure white feathers?

I have this week old chick that I think might be a maran but maybe crossbred or something. It has black feathers and white feathers. Can anyone explain this?

It might be a Splash Maran. They are white with speckles.

My black maran pops out babies like that. The father is an Isbar though. She looked simular at birth but less white. She had white though.. Maybe you can see them in this pic.

From what I’ve read, Black Marans can have white feathers as chicks but they should molt out in 4 or 5 months. That chick looks like it has too much white all over to be a black Marans though.

Mines really a mix of marans. Maybe yours is too. She even had one come out looking like a BCM..

Looks like a little too much white for BCM but should be interesting to see how she turns out as she grows and changes colors.
