Can a chick recover from this? Skin missing on head (graphic pic)

Update on Hellboy:
The skin seems pulled around his eyes kinda awkward and I think he's having trouble seeing the ground. He walks like a high-stepping horse!!! HOWEVER, he comes a runnin whenever I come out to his pen, so it's obviously not affecting his movement -- other than the fact that he looks funny! I put a feeder up higher for him, and he seems to be getting on just fine.
Even DH considers him a pet now. Unless he turns mean I guess he'll be with us

It's scabby and "covered over" so he's not just flappin in the breeze anymore, but it's not fully healed yet. I wish there was a magic potion to make his skin grow faster.
Also he seems to have groomed his feathers some, and they are no longer sticking up like horns

Actually it's a good idea. LOL I'm going to raise a doz chicks for my boss, they come in next Wednesday so I'm gonna have to boot Hellboy out of the brooder tractor then.

I am saddened that Hellboy seems to have died in his sleep last night. He was running around fine yesterday, acting like nothing was wrong, so I suspect a blood infection - without any real symptoms.
Around midnight I counted beaks and he was sleeping standing up, but when I came to let everyone out this morning it looked like he'd just fallen over sideways

I knew it could still happen, so I guess I was somewhat prepared, but I think DH was almost ready to cry.

I'm so sorry. I thought he was out of the woods as far as infection.
