Can a double yoke egg hatch?

After reading about stuck yokes in a double yoke egg I am wondering can a double yoke egg hatch? if so is it ever successful?

I actually recently found a site with a PPT on it talking about double yokes and what happens with them. 2 chicks CAN develop in these, but one will always over power the other for the room and one chick will die (sometimes both will), but YES a chick (singular) can hatch from it.

Do a search on BYC - Speckledhen attempted a double-yolk hatch, and if ANYONE could do it, she certainly could as she's extremely experienced. End result: didn't work. But, they DID develop.
