Broodies can 'wean' their chicks anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. So, if a hen hatches chicks and raises them to 'adulthood', can she go broody again later that year?
So cute! I can just see her bringing the chicks to the door and running off to the nest boxI had a hen years ago that would raise her chicks 6 weeks, come "give" them to us and go lay her next clutch of eggs, hatch them, raise the chicks 6 weeks, "give" them to us... Rinse and repeat.
By "give" I mean she would bring them to our door, cluck-cluck and walk off and that was it, she was done with them, they are ours now. It was the cutest thing!
