Hi ! I have a Welsumer hen that is 2 yrs old. Last year she DID lay eggs, but I don't think she's laying this year. At least not yet. Anyway, when I left the "girls" out to free-range yesterday, I watched as they walked by me. I happened to notice that Wendy Welsumer had spurs! Yikes! I never noticed that before, and I'm sure I would have if she had them. Can a hen have spurs, or is it normal?
