Can a nerve problem cause a rash?

I had shingles supposedly when I was 12 I don't remember much except I was in a group home and in confinement. I can't remember the pain per say.

I can tell you just this year I had exactly what you are describing at first its not that bad omgosh the pain is the worst ever I mean that and last for a month....I had not insurance at the time and I think it was shingles....absolutely terrible. It started as a rash but sometimes it looked as though some of the red bumps were looking like pimples had a white top like a blister and they were the pox so to speak....and man did it itch something terrible. The right shoulder blade is where I was affected. I don't envy his position if it is what I had earlier this year. They do make an ointment to put on there for shingles you have to get from the doctor. They also have a shot out you can get for it to stop happening if you doctor thinks you need it...usually for people over 60 I think but I think they should give it if I want it I don't want to go through that again ever. I would wake up to it hurting cause it was hurting probably.

There are a lot of weird rashes out now. Shingles and exzema are just a few of them. I have had what I call a rash on my legs (ankles to knees) for over two years on and off. I too thought it was shingles. I even had them do a test on one of them. There started off as sorta like a pimple. Then I scratched it (not cause it itched, but because I thought it was a pimple). Then they turned into some sores. Geez....The test came out negative for everything? But I wonder. Cause I still have two of them on the lower right leg, and I put A&D ointment on there but just when they seem to go away, they come right back. I have scars all over my legs from them. Its so weird. I thought I had MRSA or something.

I wish I could figure out how to describe this rash. There's red, large - quarter sized - areas that are raised, not small blisters. There's a patch of them on the left side of his upper chest/neck and a purplish, almost bruise like one on his throat (adam's apple).

Checked with him a bit ago. He's at work. He said his shoulder hurts as in the bone. The rash hasn't bothered him except once where his t-shirt rubbed it hard and then he said it burned for a few secs.

They check you for autoimmune disorders?

I dunno. Last night it appeared to be blistered; not worse, just changed.

I had shingles on my face and after a while it 'blistered.' It was really nasty looking, and not like the rashy pics you see on the internet. Hurt like a son of a gun after a while, but not right away. I don't think I would have called it skin pain. Bone pain might cover it better, since it is right in the nerves.

Do you give Apple Cider Vinegar to your chicks? Have him start drinking that in his water too... make sure you get the good stuff though! The Braggs brand "with the Mother". It might help level out his pH to help drive whatever it is away. I have a rash on my arm that I think is ringworm and have been using ACV on it and drinking it. It's going away. Slowly but it's working...

Good luck!

Thanks y'all.

The only reason I can't quite call it shingles is that it's not reall painful to him, other than the pain in the bone. I thought shingles was really painful?

Weird, but he woke up with a swollen eye on the same side of his body this morning.

DH had sepsis from systemic e.coli back in 2007. He nearly died. They had to destroy his immune system in the process of treating him. The doctor said his immune system will never be the same.
