Well, so far this is the only good news I have read about cornish-rocks. Im glad to read that they can be good layers some times.
I have 6 cornish rock 3 day old babies. I wanted egg layhers so I had hoped for leghorns or road island reds but TSC only had cornish-rocks and in my mixed up mind I was thinking they are the next best brown egg layers. Once I got home and researched them I found that they are bad egg layers, get sick easy and fall over dead young.
We are not going to kill our pet chickens but we had hoped for eggs. I keep finding where they only live a few months to a year. I wish I had not gotten mixed up thinking they were good egg layers because this will break my kids heart when they start dying off. I hope I can keep them healthy for as long as possible and that they will lay eggs for us.
