I've never encountered this before....my female has not once stepped in the to help feed her young, leaving the male to do all the work. This arrangement worked out fine up until now. (they range from 9-11 days old) He seems distressed, and the babies' crops don't appear to be as full as they should be. 
Any advice? Should I step in and provide supplemental feed, or let him continue?
