Can an utter lack of common sense be a symptom?

Poor little duckling, my duckling didnt grow either it looked a few weeks old when in fact it was 3 months old, the vet suspected a heart defect, he/she did everything normally with the other ducks but couldnt keep up and couldnt keep warm, sounds like it has some serious problems but with love and care who knows how far it will go, so glad to hear it being cared for. Good luck to you and your duckling I truly wish you all the best.

Thanks! I really do think we have to bring it inside. It just mistook a compost heap for it's mother. Poor little thing.

Watch, she'll grow up fat and happy.

She's also a strange colour pattern too.

I have posted this pic on here somewhere else before...But this is Ollie and his Big sister- both hatched from the same setting.. Ollie is nearly full sized now- but way behind as far as molting and colour development goes. Ollie hatched in July- and has only had his first molt, I am still patiently waiting to see what his final colours will be. Meanwhile his sister is fully grown- full adult plumage and laying eggs. I love my special boy!

The ones that have special needs are usually the ones that make the best pets.

WHOA they're the same setting? yeah this duckling is STILL small. It's smaller than the last hatch that is now 3 days younger than it. I mean a day on a duckling is a difference. It's still walking funny and sitting a lot and falling over a lot and landing on it's head and kicking it's little webs in the air.

I don't think/hope it'll be that big of a difference though. :hmm
