can Annie go back in the coop tonight? need answer fast please?

Jeannieo, I am so sorry for your experience with your hens. We get so attached and concerned...it's hard to see our chickens ill and dying. Ozark Hen, thank you for your information. I'll see what I might be able to do about a saddle, she can definitely profit from covering, though I doubt I'll be handy at constructing one and we need it NOW:) I'll try. I like your idea of placing a couple milder hens in with her a day or so before reintroducing her to the flock. I'm disappointed to hear of the failure of BluKote with hens. I guess I was convinced it would deceive the peckish hens and stop or slow down the harm. Well, tiime will show on this one...~G

so sorry, Jeannieo!

Jeanieo, I am so sorry for your loss! It's so hard when a beloved pet dies. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that you took the best care of your girls that you could have.

We have had limited success with Blu-kote, but have done better with Rooster Booster Pick No More. It has reduced the picking going on over here, though we have to start reapplying it again. It's been weeks since we used it, but my BO had a bloody area near her rear this morning. She is so indignant when we lotion her up.
I've also heard that diaper cream works as an anti-pick, but have not tried it yet.
