Can anybody please help me with detached aircells?!?!

You might try ordering your eggs from a different source. One that will ensure your eggs travel through a different postal hub than they are now. I've noticed, being in TN, if my eggs go through Memphis, I might as well just pitch them. They do a real number on them. But, if they go through Knoxville or Nashville, my packages arrive in much better shape. Just a thought. With some hubs, it doesn't matter how well the breeder packages them. It's like, if they see the labels that say fragile, they play soccer with them or something.

I use a Brinsea Octo 20 Advance. I just set the egg fat end up in the rails and tried to have the turning go perpendicular to the track of the detachment. In other words, if the loose area was on the west side of the egg, I'd have the tilt going north to south. (If that makes any sense). Stopped turning day 18. And hatched in a cut down egg carton cup

Have no idea how the little one made it.

Yes, the packages were from two different sources. And two different states, I'll have to check where they came in and if each one came into a different city/port place. And I usually never order from the same breeder twice, unless I am getting replacement eggs like this time. Yeah, it does seem possible that they played soccer with the first box!

Oh okay, so you're kinda of encouraging the aircell to go the right way? I think I understand what you were saying in the post. At least I can picture it. Ooh you have a nice incubator! I love Brinseas but they haven't been added to the budget yet in my house. I just have two Little Giant styros. I have the 9200 and 9300 both with installed fans. But they have done pretty well for me. They need a little extra babysitting, but I think they are both great incubators! In the 9200 I have already hatched 6 successful hatches and hopefully going in for my 7th successful hatch!

Same experience, Memphis has a thing for scrambled eggs apparently.

Makes me sad, there are a lot of breeders I'd like to order from, but as soon as I see that they'll go through Memphis, I back track. My last batch of eggs that went through there, I hatched one black copper Marans from. That one hen cost me almost $58 :barnie Never again.

Wow! In my last batch I paid over $60 for and we only got 5 chicks. Out of like 30 eggs. We ordered 12+ each of two different breeds but we only received 18 eggs that weren't broken only 8 started developing and only 5 made it and hatched.

Okay so I candled the eggs and the aircells were still completely detached and the eggs didnt even start to develop. =( They were all clear with no veins or embryo or anything whatsoever but a yolk inside them. But on the second batch I'm hatching the ones with loose aircells are developing. But the one with the completely detached from that batch isn't. =( I cracked open the eggs and all the yolk and whites were all scrambled together in 4 of the eggs, and in the last egg the yolk was unbroken but it didn't even look like it was fertilized. =( So no babies from that batch. But I guess I wasnt expecting too much from them anyway. I'm still excited for the other babies from this next batch!

Sorry they didn't work out :( I just got a shipment of 9 eggs (was 6 and they included 3 extra). Perfect packaging and looked good. At day 8 I have 4 developing and 4 blood rings...with one that is all speckled when I try to candle, so can't tell on that one. All I can conclude is the 4 that have blood rings must have been too shook up bc that is a high percent of blood rings.

Yes, I have definitely experienced blood rings in shipped eggs! I hope you get some chicks out of this batch. What kind of eggs are you hatching?
