Can anyone give me a home?*He has a new home....*

As much as I hate to admit it, I am trying to find a home for this little beast.
Yes, he is the one that killed my chickens. If I had caught him that night, I would have brained him with the shovel and not felt the least remorse, but I find I can't do it in cold blood.

He showed up at my house again today. I called his owner and the people who were supposed to come get him over the weekend never showed up. They were supposed to get him this morning and didn't. So I will keep him here, in the house or kennel until one of us finds a home for him.

That way I can be SURE he is secured when I am at work! If I can't find a home for him in a week or so, I WILL take him to the pound.
He is housebroken and good with cats, kids and everything except poultry. (at this posting, he is curled up on the couch with one of my cats)
If you know anyone who doesn't have neighbors with chickens or wants to keep him as an indoor dog (he would be totally happy with this, he is a couch potato if you let him) let me know.

Post him on the pets section of your local Craigs list on the web... Someone will want him....Good Luck

I wouldn't feel bad letting your shelter do the adoption work on this guy. Unless they are totally overwhelmed, small dogs like this that can also be around cats and kids are usually adopted quickly. The little dogs that do sit in the shelter a long time are the ones who are nippy around small children.

That's a shame about the chickens, I would take him in a heartbeat if you were close, he's adorable!

Try your local rescue group. At least they screen adopters. The pound will let anyone take him, including dog fighters in need of bait dogs.

if you give the dog to a shelter make sure it is a NO KILL shelter, or look up a small dog rescue group.

ya, post him on petfinder.com. there is a section for animals that you find that are not in a shelter.

I suggest you turn him over to a shelter. I personally don't believe you are wrong but you have to protect yourself. This is a world that is "sue crazy". In the eyes of the law dogs are property not family members. If you keep him until you find a home, your neighbor could accuse you of stealing him and in essence that is what you are doing. You know who he belongs to but you still kept him.

Turn him over to a shelter or even a rescue group.
