Hello,

I went out this morning and found this egg in my coop. I have cayugas and pekins. My Perkins lay white eggs, my cayugas grey or white. Is this just an egg abnormality or could they have possibly eaten something that caused this? It has a green bloom. Some calcium deposit as well. I also have one female not sure which yet that is laying two eggs at a time. It could be this one who layed this. Should I be concerned? My fear is that it's the same green/ blue color as di-con mouse killer which I used in another building well away from my ducks.

I would guess it is one of the cayugas. They can lay black to white and anything inbetween. Green is also normal for them and they usually get lighter the longer they lay.

Yep, green is a very normal Cayuga egg color. They have a pretty big range of colors, as needlessjunk has said. :)
