Black soldier fly larvae, very edible, very nutritious, usually found in manure. Very good poultry feed.

Black soldier fly larvae are great chicken food. They're even sold as food for reptiles. Lucky you, got them for free!!!

There have been several threads on these on the forum this year. You might want to do a search and read up on them. Lots of people try to culture them outside, as they are such a good food for the chickens.
 
thank to you all and yes i got them free buy the thousand andI have been feeding them and you all are right the chickens love them,like I said i put out my old chick dropping paper ,it had lots of wasted feed in it ,in a compost tub open top it rained on it and when I went to dump it ,the whole pile was crawling with these ugly little boogers,but the chicken go crazy for them and thank you all for letting me know what they are I think i'll start another bind the same way
