Can Anyone Help Us? Must Leave Farm in Iowa

Hey Ma,
I am soooo sorry that you lost so much and am glad you were able to find a new hope for your chickens. When you get back on your feet and back in order let me know. I can hatch some more for you if you dont mind mutts of all kinds!!!! I have a TON of different chickens and have about 20 hens that will start laying next spring. As long as it takes just let me know. I have a sister in law that live out side Grand Mound that when the time is right and we are going for a visit we can even bring them along. Jenn

I'm in N. IL. and the flooding has been tremendous around these parts and in the neighboring states. Our home is safe and I would have offered assistance in a pinch but the home your chickens found sounds WONDERFUL! I'm so happy for them. And I will continue to pray for you and your family.

Regards,
Gretchen

You were right, Ma. Randy went on the roost, one of the ladies laid near him on the ladder, and all the rest crowded up on top of each other on the ladder by the pop hole! They were squishing each other, so I just went and slid another board in by the main roost and all but one are now sleeping up there.

I am glad it worked out for us to adopt your chickens - they are so much fun already!

Good luck and god bless you and your family Ma, you and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care and know that we all love you and will wait for your safe return. Trudy

Update on the adopted chickens - we got 6 eggs today from 7 hens. I was quite surprised as I had read that they probably wouldn't lay for awhile with the stress of the move. These are some resilient ladies! Must take after Ma.
