Can anyone help with a dog with a possible food allergy?

Cool, like a hamster or a rat! Comet, or sensitive dog loves bones, we give him leftover bones form dinner most of the time. We wont though when he goes on lock down.
Leftover bones are no longer raw and should better not be fed to dogs as they may cause internal damage. Unlike raw bones the cooking process will leave bones dry and the fibers lose their former elasticity.

I have tried just about every food out there 😂🤣

I like Victor, Nutrisource, Zignature (a bit salty though) and also like Merrick, Wellness CORE, Earthborn Holistics (the Primitive Natural formula is the best IMO), etc. although the latter two changed their formulas so not sure about now hah but they’re still good. If those are too pricey, Tractor Supply actually has a pretty good food IMO called 4Health and they have grain free and with grain. Victor and Nutrisource do too.

Even Purina is not a bad a food as people make it out to be. Their Pro Plan foods are very good especially the sensitive skin and stomach one. You might try that one and see if it helps. It caused my cat to stop throwing up.

The Purina One is good too.

I am personally not a huge fan of Blue Buffalo. I think it’s rather overpriced for what it is. There are good foods out there.

Oh and also Walmart makes a very good grain free food too, surprisingly. I think it’s called Pure Balance or something like that and pretty reasonable. My dog did well on it.

Also I find Chewy really isn’t that cheap anymore. They used to be but not now and I will often find foods for the same price or even cheaper sometimes at Tractor Supply or even the pet stores. So shop around a bit for the best price. Just cause it’s high online doesn’t mean it will be in person.

A raw or prepared diet is great, but remember if you feed raw, canned, or prepared foods it’s even more important to brush their teeth. The soft foods get stuck in between much easier than kibble, which many dogs even swallow whole.
Feeding raw meaty bones will help with this. Most people that feed raw account for the teeth and give them bones and/or necks to chew to clean them.

Just so you know cooked bones, especially cooked chicken bones, are really not a good idea. They can easily splinter and get stuck in the throat or the intestines. If you want to feed bones, raw bones are best as they are far softer and more pliable. Cooked bones are dangerous for dogs.

Chewy was bought by Petco and is the dumps now ☹️

Cool, maybe we wont have to brush his teeth to often then! So if we decide to feed him real ingredients rather then a pre prepared food, then ho would you suggest we feed it, what to feed, and in what quantity? Thanks so much!
There is a lot of info on raw feeding online and calculators and stuff but it can get confusing. IMO prey model raw is the best for dogs as opposed to BARF or cooked but there are even frozen, freeze dried, or otherwise pre packaged raw diets now do you don’t have to do the work yourself.
