Can anyone tell if it's a he or a she?

Chick arrived at 2 days old. Bought a pullet and was suppose to be an Ameraucana. I've been corrected and told here she wasn't an Ameraucana but an EE. She also seems to hold herself as a rooster. Chick will be 7 weeks old this Tuesday, Sept. 15th. Is it just me? Hen or Rooster or can you even tell yet?

I dont know much about EE's but iv heard if the hackle and saddle feathers are pointed,then its a rooster, and if they are rounded, then its a hen. Dont take my word for it though, it might not be relevant to EE's.

I wish I could but unfortunately I can not. Ordinances won't allow roosters. breaks my heart I've come to love all of them. It will be hard enough to give the ones I promised to someone away.

It's too young to have male specific feathering yet. The pointed hackle and saddle feathers don't even begin to develop until about 10 weeks old. And it takes a few weeks after that, for them to be clearly visible.
The chick in question has a small, single ridge of peas and an even color/pattern. It looks like a pullet.

single pea row makes me think pullet. I have 4 EE that were suppose to be Ameraucanas, I got duped too. I was looking at one of mine tonight and she's definitely a she, but her feathers drape down more than the others. The thing that bites about EE is not knowing what they're mixed with (unless someone bought them/bred knowing they were getting EE and knowing what mixed with what to make them).

Not sure if that helps you or not. It's hard to tell with EE in my own opinion. I was told that cockerels have triple pea rows instead of single.

I have a second chick (Ameraucana turned EE) from the same company. She is much smaller, and started out a different color. She's also 'chicken little'. She has a stroke every time I try to touch/pick her up. She is so hard to get photos of. I guess I'm just getting impatient to figure out which ones I'll be able to keep. I guess I'll know when I know!
