Can anyone tell me about this lil guy?

He wandered into my yard four weeks ago and is decidedly comfortable. I know nothing of peacocks. He does appear to be growing some new feathers. Right now he has those pretty "peacock feathers" only on his right side, and only few at that.

He's regrowing his tail and some back feathers. Due to the nature of the feather loss, I'm guessing that something grabbed him by the back/tail and he managed to escape. He will be a beautiful bird.

Did you try to find his owners?
My recent experiences have led me to greatly appreciate people who discover lost peas and then try to find their (very worried, in my case!) owners...

I've checked the local animal shelter/rescue etc... online lost and founds several times. Several neighbors think he came from a gated community nearby. No one has posted signs. I think he was maybe tossed out. For sure, if someone there wanted him, they'd hear his calls every eve and morn. HA HA HA... He is not the silent type! He sits on my deck all day...so, certainly not wild. Or are peacocks just friendly?

Looks like an India Blue. Someone or something grabbed his tail and he faught hard to lose that many feathers

Thank you everyone who mentioned he'd probably been grabbed. Poor guy...I hadn't thought of trauma.
