can anyone tell me what my handsome Roo is?

Chicks4fun - I'd say you've got a keeper in that roo! Who cares what his breed is when he's that great around your girls! I've got 2 young cocks in with my pullets right now...waiting to see what their temperament's will be. I hope I get one as good as yours!
Oh I agree. I think I wondered about what he is because I let his favorite hen, (who we hadn't named until he came, Julliet) keep an egg to hatch. I know her breeding and then decided to ask the folks at BYC what he might be.
He favors this one little mixed breed, cripple hen and dotes on her. She is always broody but never hatched one of her own eggs. Right now she is sitting on one of hers and one that was shipped to me.
The other thing I love about him as he's not aggressive with us. I once had a roo that would tear across our yard, fly up and hit us! I couldn't even feed the chickens without him attacking. Found a home for him where he's kept in a run, he's lucky he wasn't chicken-noodle-soup.
