To clarify...
The 18 inches of galvanized steel is buried and nailed to the bottom perimeter of the run and coop it was then filled in will rocks and dirt. I did have a rat try and move in this Spring so we put steel wool in all the openings we could find and then filled that in with cement for good measure. It did not get any of my birds so far, and I am hoping to keep it that way!
I will have to get another live trap as right now I have my only one in use at the farm due to a wood chuck who has been chewing through out pump house wiring. Different property, lol.
I want to thank everyone who took the time to look at and comment on my question and pictures. My cat is a new mom, and has 4 kittens about 2 weeks old. She has always been a good hunter as was her mother and grandmother. She even occasionally leaves me a chipmunk, mouse, bird or squirrel on my door step. Like I would eat it, lol! Silly girl!!
