Can anyone tell me what this is???

We found this in our yard. It's about the size of my hand. No one knows what it is! They look like eggs or something but I've never seen anything like it!

Oh No! It looks like Those are tick eggs!! You might want to look up how to remove/treat those!!

It's creeping me out! Several people have suggested tick eggs but we don't think it is, unless the tick was the size of my head, in which case we are definitely moving! The closest picture I could find that looks like it is from this article:

So maybe it's black pearl slime mold??? I would rather it be that than some kind of eggs!

Have you tried spraying it with water? A lot of fungi and molds repel water, but I don’t know if that’s a proper method of identification!

If it is a fungi your local agriculture office should be able to identify it for you.
