can call ducks get a cold...?

my drakes nose is running.. i dont think its an infection.. because it snowed this morning and he was out there..but whenever he tries to quack come out right... i think its trying to quack out of his nose holes... or the snot is plugged.... is it an infection or a cold..
i havent seen him sneeze...

Sometimes ducks can get infections - does he have a way to clean his nares?

I would get him into a lukewarm tub for a while so he can snoot water and rinse out the nares. And whenever a duck seems a bit puny I give them vitamins as a boost.

How do his eyes look?

hes in the tub right now... his eyes dont look cloudy... but the ring around his eyes doesnt seem normal

He may have the beginnings of a sinus infection. If that's the case, he might be able to fight it off if he's kept warm, given some supplements such as Nutri Drench or Vitamins/Electrolytes/Probiotics, etc., and lots of opportunity to rinse his nares out with warm water.

It may have gotten ahead of him, though, in which case some antibiotics should work.

I have read that there are antibiotic drops you can get . . . I haven't found them but I haven't looked that hard yet.

There's also a possibility he may need oral antibiotics. That's beyond my experience, so a vet, wildlife rehabilitator, or experienced BYC person would be a help there.

You can get nutri drench at TSC not sure about VetRX I ordered mine from Jeffers. glad to hear he's looking better.
