can chickens do a chicken head count?

Wise hens! There is no need for rudeness or rape....period! When my roos did the dance when they were young and I was out there with them all when the hen said no thanks and he jumped anyhow, he got chased with the broom and we yelled, "We don't do that in this house!" They learned early on what the hens said, they meant and any further persistence especially when humans were around resulted in a broom ride....halloween or not!! LOLOur roosters are gentlemen and great protectors and our hens need not gang up because of that, but I totally agree with your flock. Enjoy them. They give much more than eggs.

This is my first time with chickens. I have been trying to let the flock sort out their differences as much as possible, especially with the cockerel. I would rather the girls train him to be a good rooster, than me interfering and becoming threat to the rooster.
