Can chickens drink and eat from bleached things?

I'm going to be getting new chicks soon, and I'm cleaning from my old flock. I know that bleaching the coop will clean it, but I was wondering if you could bleach the feeders and waterers and still have it be safe for them to eat and drink from.

Personally I would clean the coop and feeders/waterers with dilute ACV and avoid the Chlorine.

I actually wash my feeders/waters in my dishwasher

The chlorine will evaporate, so I think it should be fine. As long as you can't smell it by the time your new chicks need it, it should be ok.

I bleach my chicken and dog waterers whenever they start to turn green with algae. Cleans them right up. I rinse very well after bleaching to get rid of the bleach. I don't give them a bleach mixture to drink, I'd consider that unhealthy. But something cleaned and sanitized with bleach, then rinsed off is about as sanitary as you can get it.

Bleach, 1 cup to a gallon of water. Dip plastic into solution but don't soak. Then rinse quickly.
I just use dish detergent and very warm water and scrub with sponge or brush. GC

Also, instead of "normal" household bleach, I use Milton on food-related things in the house. In any case as long as you rinse very well and leave it to dry, it shouldn't cause any issues. Having said that, I stick with vinegar for all my chook things. It does a good job on algae and other muck.

Unless you get your water from a well or natural spring, that is, if you're on "city water," it's got bleach (hypochlorite/chlorine) in it.
