thinking about if chickens could drink moonshine for a natural medicine or something

Offhand, I cant think of a time that Ive used any kind of alcohol to actually medicate poultry other than perhaps to clean a wound. I cant imagine any benefit from getting your birds to drink moonshine other than the possible (and ethically questionable

) entertainment value of watching drunk chickens and ducks stagger around the yard.

If you are using some kind of grain mash to make your moonshine, though, then you probably could probably feed the used mash to the birds as long as you were very careful to use it quickly enough that there was no chance of mold growing in it. Last year I met someone who picks up used mash from a brewery weekly and feeds it to her flock.

I had a neighbor once who let his chicken feed get moist and it fermented. His chicken ate it and got drunk. His poor chickens stumbles around squaking and falling over while the dumb fool laughed his head off.
