Can chickens really explode?

alka-seltzer will make the crop expand, and if given a large amount it can cause damage to it or even death. I dont know about 1 tablet but i know if a bird has a few it can die

rice just maybe the same way, if a bird overeats a large portion of rice at once and drinks water in a short period of time it most likely cant digest it all right away, it will just expand in the crop and cause issues.

Snopes.com covered the uncooked rice thing, it doesn't do anything.

actually, mythbusters did something similar with a pig stomach (from a slaughterhouse, not still in the pig). They used alka-selzer or soda, or both. It did cause some extreme bloating and did cause a small rupture.
