Hello all - this is my first post and probably one of many!
I bought 3 female cream Legbar chicks and one male clb chick and they've all turned out different to each other.
I've been in touch with the breeder and she's agreed that two of my hens are the wrong colouring (way too gold)but one of them is the right colouring. As for the cockerel he looks about right but will tell how much of the gold colouring he has when he gets a bit older.
Now, the 2 female chicks who are 'wrong' have developed larger combs than the cockerel and even of some of my white star hens!!
Is it possible that these could be cockerels or just well developed females? All three females had distinctive stripes as chicks but just varied in shades of brown, male chick definitely had a dot on its head.
Just to note I won't be breeding from these - they are purely for egg laying.
I'll attach a photo of the two hens,
Many thanks guys!
