I have a silkie mix about 2 years old . Healthy until we bought a new chicken coop it's cedar. She won't go lay in there and she will not go in at night either anymore. We have to put her in there. She was on doxycycline from vet got better then respiratory issues came back. Congested sneezing kinda a gurgly sound. Now she is on baytril and I'm doing vetrx at night orally to her. Which to be honest seemed to help better then all the other meds.

I know that cedar has a strong odor and can lead to respiratory and liver problems in animals like rodents, insects, and other small animals. Birds have very sensitive lungs, so that could be the cause. However, it could also be something else.

I hope she gets better soon. Best of luck!
