Can duck coexists with chickens?

My drake did at first but one of my hens had just stopped being broody so was still moody, so when this drake tried to mount her she have him a surprise in the form of a pecking, and he has never done it again. The hens and the drake now get along fine as if nothing happened

We have mixed flock of 13 pullets. My daughter is begging to get a duck. Can duck socialize with chicken and stay in same coup????
yes, they can socialize and be fine. I have ducks and chickens in the same house. right now I do not keep them separate because they free range from dawn to dusk. winter time is a different story, having a couple feet of snow keeps everyone inside most of the time. I have a duck area in Duck and Chickenville(the house). it is fenced off from the chickens so they can't intermingle and have problems(in winter). ducks are much messier so they have to be cleaned more often. Also a side note, since we had crap loads of rain this year, chickenville got completely flooded (their house is on the ground). we are in stage 3 of fixing for drainage. the whole inside of the coop was dug out from 4 to12 inches down and replaced with some drainage pipe and gravel as was the entry way. the coop is 7 foot wide and 18 feet long and at its highest point is 8 feet tall. stage 3 is digging around the coop and doing the same thing.
so never fear, there is a solution for everything and I would suggest getting 5 ducks--1 male, 4 female. they are social creatures and like to talk to one another.
I feed blue seal layer pellets(non medicated) for both chickens and ducks --they also get cracked and whole corn and table scraps besides all the bugging they do all day long!
