First week about 90 at his level....reduce by 5°/week. Guessing that he should be about 80 now (fitting in your hand doesn't really tell me anything....a call will fit in your hand a lot longer than a Pekin).

Oh that's a neat idea! Yes, he has enough room to move out of the light, but he has a specific spot he sleeps at and the cage is in a spot where I can't put the heat lamp on the other side. The most I can do is pull the cage further away. He is a stubborn, stubborn duckling. Lol.

We think he is a Cayuga. The store we got him from didn't know anything about him. :/

We are thinking he is a Cayuga. The store didn't know anything about him, sadly.

Looks like a I-b to I-c duckling (think I-c, but not sure on domestics)....so temp should be more like 75.

Duckling age....a mallard duckling is about 7 days in the 1a stage...based on body shape and development....green-wing teal....about 5 days...they become class II when feathers start...
