Yes. Unless it’s a nice day. In Minnesota it’s very cold usually below zero and their coop is not insulated at all. This is what their coop looks like. Our electric bill is going to be very high

We gave our ducks cat food and they started laying a couple days later. when we stopped giving them cat food in addition to their feed they stopped laying. We haven't added any cat food since then and they still haven't laid any since then. I'm going to be adding cat food again to see if they start up again but I'm pretty sure they will start laying again. We learned it online and from one of the farm videos we watch.

You should have a light on for a couple hours before sunrise. Not on all night.

Make sure that the lights are not on all night. Animals need sleep, just like humans do. Maybe try to put up some plastic on the run to block out some of the wind and cold air.

It sounds like the light in your coop is a heatlamp? If so, red or white? What's the wattage?

We have plastic on all the wall except the back wall for ventilation. It’s a white and I’m not sure the wattage. It is a heat lamp

How big is the coop? How many birds are you housing? You concerned it will be too cold- what are the walls made of?

don’t force them to lay eggs. you want them to take a break for as long as possible or they could die earlier because of it
