Hello! I recently had to cull my whole flock from infectious Coryza. I only kept two chickens that I keep separate from the rest of the flock. Recently, I bought another small flock of 15 chickens, thinking my other two were safe. I got them tested however, and it came back positive, and the sick two have already been unintentionally exposed to the new flock. About ducks...We are wanting to get some ducks but still keep the flock of chickens we have (I really don’t want to cull AGAIN) Can ducks get infectious Coryza? Most sites I’ve looked at say no. Only one site mentions ducks in the list of “host range”.

Can ducks get infectious Coryza?

Ducks usually have high resistance towards the common respiratory diseases we see in poultry. However, to be more sure about that case you may consider contacting your state lab and ask whether Coryza would pose a prevalent problem to your ducks. They may be able to speak on whether there have been reports of waterfowl contracting Coryza in your area.
