Can ducks have bread if ONLY given sometimes as a treat?

'Duckbread is duckdeath' it says. I'm not German but they are all over Europe and I particulary liked this German graphic design. They are not there for nothing.

If you have the choice; bread or something else. I would go for the something else.
If the bread is the only thing you can offer them as food and they otherwise would die because no food; different story. But if you have the luxury I would go safe and just give something else.

My goodness, give it a break! I feed my ducks what they need (non-treat wise) but I also think it’s good for them to get treats once in a while. If you’re sooo worried I’m going to kill my ducks, I won’t give them bread.

I don't think you are going to kill them.
I just think you can give them treats that have less chance to kill them.
And they are not humans.
Dried mealworms are a feast here. A true snack. Many say peas. I don't understand why you nééd to give them bread as a snack (or dorito chips, or birthday cake, etc) when you make them equally happy with more proven healthy snacks.

Think of it like candy. If you feed a child candy now and then, it's fine. If you feed a child so much candy they don't want to eat anything else (like ducks at parks), it's not going to work out so well. Plus the added risk of the bread expanding if the duck eats a massive amount.

I admit I might share the crust of my sandwich now and again. Just think of it like feeding your kid a whole cake. Lol

My kids are only allowed half a cake a day, Moderation is the key!
