Can eggs get stuck

I have a hen that has been sitting on her nest since yesterday and she has not laid an egg. I took her out for a bit this evening and she walks around fine, seems normal, but rather then scratch around a bit she went back up to her nest.

Normally she lays an egg every other day or so.

My wife says she thinks maybe she has an egg stuck......Possible???????

hens can get eggbound, but I think they act sickly and uncomfortable.

It sounds to me like she's just gone broody... she wants to hatch some eggs. When they get that way, they stop laying and just sit tight in the nest in an attempt to incubate eggs. If you want her to stop and go back to laying, search this site for advice on "breaking up broodies."
