Can eggs get worms?

This may sound stupid, but can eggs get worms inside of them? I was candling my eggs today and in one of them I saw a thick blackish tube wiggling around the chick. So at first I thougt it was just a blood vessel. But could it be a worm? It seems weird. My chicks are gonna hatch in a week. Is it a blood vessel or a worm?

I second that... I mean I guess they could and would carry worms if the hen had them? Would like to know the right answer!
