Can hens grow spurs?

I noticed the other day that one of my 4 year old BSL's has 1 inch spurs. Her comb isn't much larger than the other hens, and she doesn't crow or try to mount the other hens. I have no idea if she lays eggs. I have 142 hens, so keeping track of who's laying is impossible. I have occasionally noticed what may be fertile spots in eggs, but always discounted it because I "have no rooster".

I have a small flock of young birds, both male and female that I will be sending to my mother's house in a couple weeks. Maybe I should include her as a bonus?
I REALLY don't want fertile eggs!

Yes, hens can grow spurs. It's not all that uncommon. If she never crows then I would bet she is a she.

Our favorite hen has spurs too and she's completely normal

I have to ask though, why don't you want fertile eggs?
