Can I breed these modern game birds together?

Hello I was wondering what would happen if I bred an all black modern game chicken with a brown red modern game chicken, would I get half brown red chicks and half all black chicks, or would the colors mix?

In moderns, hens pass on body type, and roosters pass on colors. Depending on which bird has what coloring, the coloring would either be all black (as said above, with possible red leakage) or an off colored brown Red.

Just read hen was the Brown Red. Depending on the rooster’s type, you might get good quality/type blacks.

I'm at a loss as to how people believe this first part to be true.
But then in your second part you say "depending on the rooster's type". If its the hen that passes on type what would the rooster's type matter?

My bad, this was a typo, I meant hen, in this case she wouldn’t pass on the brown Red, but her quality to chicks that would be black, or only have slight brown (My birds occasionally have caps (tops of their heads offcolored) when crossing).
Thank you for catching this!

I heard this from a top breeder in Indiana. I’m not sure if this is for all breeds, but I trust his opinion, and he says it’s true for moderns. So I’ve gone off what he said for a few years now, and it’s always been accurate, at least for me. Although, Ive read/heard in many places that genes, how closely related, and different genetic disorders can affect this. If you believe this or not, I’ll always respect your opinion, even if I don’t agree, but this has been useful and correct for me!

Its not correct but old time breeders didn't understand genes as much as breeders do these days and when you've been at it a long time and have certain ideas it's hard to see things any different.
Moderns and how their genes work are no different then any other breeds. That hen will pass her color genes to the offspring just as much as the rooster and the rooster will pass type just as much as the hen. Its simple genetics all offspring get half their genes from each parent. That includes color genes and genes for type.
