I second this. This is how i got Mareks in my flock a while back.Some good feedback has been given already.
I will just add that I refuse to buy hatching eggs or chicks from unknown sources.. as it's one way I see folks bringing disease to their flock.. Chronic respiratory stuff, salmonella, etc.
What did you do?I wanted a broody hen too. All of a sudden I've got 2 on a nest of eggs each. They didn't wait till spring. Dark Cornish and they are feisty if anyone gets to close to their nests.
No problem. The advantage of a mother hen is that they take all the guesswork out of it and normally have high success rates. The advantage of an incubator is that you hatch on your schedule and not when the hen's hormones cause her to want to raise a family.No.It is kind of funny that I made this post.
