Can I feed my Chickens Pecan's ?

I am new to this chicken thing. My kids have nicknamed me the Chicken Queen.

I have a couple of questions.
I have a Pecan tree right next to my chicken coop. My chickens like to eat the pecans, but is it ok for them to?
If so, will it hurt them if they eat too much?
Will it hurt them to eat the shell?

If they have already been eating them i would say it's ok. You don't want them to eat enough that they don't get a balanced diet though. As long as they are still eating mostly chicken feed you should be ok and i think it would be a good supplement for protein. Good Luck

Mine used to eat them with no problems. But I did make sure their diet was mostly chicken feed.
