Can I feed this as a treat?

My chicks are 4 weeks old. I bought some Publix brand of Grape Nuts cereal, thinking maybe I would like it now (I didn't many years ago). Nope, might as well go chew some dirt. Can I feed it to the chicks as a treat, or is the barley too difficult for them to digest? I thought I read that about barley somewhere, but I could be mistaken. I just hate for it to go to waste. I guess maybe the wild birds might eat it if the chickens can't. The first 2 ingredients are whole grain wheat flour and malted barley flour.

Personally I would NOT be feeding anything to the chicks other than the chick feed.
Sure, others will say they feed their chicks all sorts of things but for me I figure I will have plenty of time to feed "treats" once they get grown and fully developed. Besides, the grapenutes will keep forever. Wait till this winter when there is less for them to scratch on the ground and give it then.

I'd save it for when they get older and make sure they get some grit first.
