Can I fix broodiness in ducks? No drakes in the flock

I have broody ducks that don’t understand their eggs aren’t viable (no drakes) and I need to know how to get them out of this broody stage. One or two are doing it every other day (one takes the add days, the other takes the even days) and some others are just finding random places around the yard to kind of do a half attempt at nest sitting.

How can I get them all to stop with the broodiness? Some of the time the girls aren’t even sitting on an egg, just on an empty nest. I am not home all day so I am hoping I can get them out of the habit without constant supervision. But man are they sassy girls at the moment! 8 total.

Not sure what you mean about taking even and odd days as a broody will sit all day and all night every day (except for 1 or 2 quick breaks). Most of the time ducks are pretty easy to break from broodiness. Remove eggs and block the spot the duck tried to set. If that doesn't work try broody jail like sometimes needs to be done with chickens.

I mean that two of the girls will “take turns” and end up sitting every other day, like clock work. Nothing I am doing to encourage it, they just do it on their own.

I haven’t heard of broody jail. I’ll have to do more searching.
