Can I get around or no?

    I'd try to get in contact with the HOA and get a definitive answer first. If you are unable to contact the HOA, then talk with your neighbours as they'll be the ones 'affected' by you owning chickens. If the HOA says no, then you could start a petition and get people around your neighborhood to sign, it often doesn't work, but could be worth a try.
    Hopefully you'll be able to get some hens, they are wonderful little animals to have around.

  2. I see nothing hazy about it at all. This agreement is written in such a manner that it allows the HOA to decide what constitutes a a nuisance and what doesn't constitute a nuisance. IMHO this is exactly in line with the kind of personally type who are attracted to becoming chairmen of HOAs.
