Can i give 5 month old peachicks heat?

Hi I have 2, 5 month old peachicks. Should i give them heat using a heat lamp? I just got them today and they are just standing around with ruffled feathers

They are fully feathered and shouldn't need heat. They are probably just scared in a new environment. But even my older birds enjoy little heat when it is cold.

Giving them heat when they do not need it will cause problems you and they do not need. A light is going to change their natural seasonal rhythm and cause molting to happen or to not happen. You will also cause them to lose their acclimation to the ambient weather temperatures.

Yes they are less cold now they have lots of bedding. I was told to keep them in till march is that normal for young chicks?
