Can I give bantam cochin broody hen regular sized chicken eggs to sit on?

The hen that was "teasing" me a few days ago, is now full time in the nesting box! yippee!

Now, I only saved 1 egg from her (I put the others in the fridge) because I didn't think she was serious, and she hardly laid any eggs right before she went broody. Is it okay to give her regular fertile eggs that are non-bantam, even though they won't be her size as chickens?

Yep! You just have to give her less than if you were giving her her own eggs. There are only so many a hen can cover

Bantam cochins will hatch duck eggs for you, she doesn't care they aren't hers, she just wants some babies! Congrats on the broody. None of my girls volunteered this year. Usually can't get them off the nest, now when I need one (my eggs are in lockdown in incubator) nobody is stepping forward to rear them. [IMG]
